Ryousuke Takanohashi is one of the world's top ten scientists and an apparent winner of the Nobel Prize. He was first introduced as a professor and director of the Gotenyama Science Center in the audio drama "Strongest Brave Beauty Corps," where the Gutsy Galaxy Guard entrusted him with a mysterious monolith discovered on the Moon.

Before the events of the OVA sequel, when Liger Shishioh is transferred back to the GGG Space Center alongside Swan and Stallion White, Takanohashi is appointed the new Chief Scientist of the Gutsy Galaxy Guard. He replaces Leo Shishioh and assumes his and Liger's former position in the Orbit Base's Main Order Room.

He owns a Boxer dog, whom he takes for frequent walks. In one segment of his introduction montage, he appears wearing a stereotypical Hawaiian-girl coconut-shell and grass-skirt outfit, which can be characterized as wholesome crossdressing.
