Elekid, an Electric-type Pokémon, inhabits a giant tree. It possesses a round yellow body marked with black stripes and bulky arms ending in three claws. Two horns shaped like power plug prongs crown its head, glowing bluish-white when fully charged, and a black lightning bolt adorns its chest.
Pikachu and companions first encountered Elekid while searching for a lost Togepi. Initially sparking electricity in intimidation, Elekid shifted to cooperation after Pikachu explained their purpose. It then guided the group through the tree, showcasing knowledge of the local Pokémon community and the nesting sites where Togepi was found.
Elekid exhibits restlessness and heightened energy during thunderstorms, reflecting its species' affinity for stormy conditions. When a severe storm threatened the giant tree, Elekid actively defended it. Alongside Pikachu, it used Electric-type moves to intercept incoming lightning strikes. This action demonstrated its ability to generate electricity by rotating its arms, though its limited energy storage capacity caused it to tire easily. Elekid's efforts helped protect nests containing Exeggcute eggs and Togepi from the storm's hazards.
Following the storm and Togepi's reunion with the group, Elekid stayed behind with its habitat companions as Pikachu and the others departed.
