TV-Series
Description
Alisa Bannings, a human born in 0056 in Uminari City on Earth, attends Seishou Elementary School alongside close friends Nanoha Takamachi and Suzuka Tsukimura. The daughter of wealthy company owners, she is an Anglophone multimillionaire heiress planning to succeed her parents' business.
In the initial timeline, Alisa displays a strong-willed and outspoken personality, often taking charge within her friend group. She owns roughly ten dogs at her family mansion and exhibits proficiency in English. Discovering the injured familiar Arf during the Jewel Seed incident, she mistakes Arf for a normal dog and provides medical care, leading Nanoha and Yuuno Scrya to her home. Alisa later becomes angry upon learning Nanoha kept magical secrets, though remains deeply concerned for her friend's safety, with Suzuka frequently calming her outbursts.
Her role diminishes but remains significant during A's. Alisa assists Fate Testarossa in adapting to Japanese daily life as a transfer student while continuing to express frustration over Nanoha and Fate's secrecy. Trapped within the Book of Darkness' barrier alongside Suzuka, she witnesses Nanoha and Fate battle the corrupted Hayate Yagami. Following the conflict's resolution, Alisa learns the truth about magic alongside other civilians and remains a close friend to Nanoha and Suzuka.
By the StrikerS timeframe, Alisa attends college as an ordinary civilian. She reappears during the "Riot Force Six" emergency search in Uminari City, acting alongside Suzuka as a local civilian contact for the Time-Space Administration Bureau, hosting Riot Force Six members for dinner at her cottage during their Lost Logia investigation.
Within the movie continuity (The MOVIE 1st, 2nd A's, Reflection, Detonation), tie-in materials expand her narrative. Reflection explores her emotional response to Nanoha's magical career, revealing anxiety over their gradual separation as Nanoha enters inaccessible worlds. Despite this, their friendship persists, with Alisa inviting Nanoha to a theme park developed by their families. Detonation concludes her elementary school arc depicting her hospital visit to an injured Nanoha and subsequent graduation.
In the INNOCENT spin-off universe, Alisa attends Private Kaisei Elementary School as a 4th-grade class officer. She becomes a "Brave Duel" player through Hobby Shop T&H alongside Nanoha and Suzuka, adopting the Midchilda-style "Fencer" avatar specialized in elemental swordsmanship. Her primary device, "Flame Eyes," channels fire-based attacks such as "Flame Whip" and "Tyrant Rave." She demonstrates tactical adaptability through "Rerise Unison" with Suzuka, temporarily gaining ice-based abilities. Her avatar customization includes variations like "Sacred" with the "Luciferion" device and non-duel equipment such as "Bardiche Zanber."
Notable gaps exist regarding Alisa's latent capabilities, with unconfirmed theories speculating about potential supernatural traits based on her presence in magical barriers. Her development consistently emphasizes maintaining civilian connections to magical protagonists despite dimensional separations.
