Description
Jutaro, born Yuki Jyutaro, is the displaced heir of a feudal lord whose family perished during the Iga ninja Sakagami Shuzen’s assault on Fushikage Castle. Forged by years of vengeful training, he challenges Shuzen only to be bested in combat by the warlord’s sister, Hotarubi, who severs his left arm. Saved by Kagemaru, a warrior from the enigmatic Shadow Clan, Jutaro joins forces with him to spearhead a rebellion against Shuzen’s tyranny.
Their alliance evolves amid escalating clashes, marked by shifting loyalties and strategic tensions. As their insurgency gains momentum, it attracts the scrutiny of Oda Nobunaga, the ruthless daimyō consolidating power through brutal campaigns to unify Japan. Jutaro’s resolve anchors itself in restoring his family’s honor and dismantling the oppressive systems upheld by rulers like Nobunaga.
The aftermath of Jutaro’s defeat to Hotaribi fractures his confidence, compelling him to depend on Kagemaru’s mentorship while adapting to his physical vulnerability. Their resistance broadens into a struggle against the era’s chaotic political landscape, navigating treacherous alliances and clandestine betrayals across the war-ravaged Sengoku period.
