Capitán Azul is a renowned superhero within the world of films, originally a revolutionary movie director nominated for many awards before audiences eventually forgot his work. Desiring to give people a great hero, he was pulled into one of his own movies and became his own creation, the superhero Capitán Azul. He fought many villains in the name of justice but gradually forgot his family and succumbed to corruption, with the seeds of evil growing within him. This corruption led him to form the evil organization Jadow and adopt a new alter-ego, King Blue, through which he sought to escape Movieland and dominate the real world. As part of his plan, he orchestrated events during a film screening where a shadowy figure, later revealed to be himself, defeated his on-screen hero persona and kidnapped his own daughter, Silvia. He then granted a device known as a V-Watch to a young movie fan named Joe, enabling Joe to transform into a superhero and ultimately confront him. After being defeated by Joe in a final battle, he revealed his true identity and his relationship to Silvia as her father, echoing a classic narrative trope. He expressed gratitude for being stopped and explained his descent into villainy began after feeling betrayed by the real world that had forgotten his films. Following his defeat, he acknowledged the story was not over and warned of future threats to Earth, indicating a hero would be needed twice more. He also granted Silvia her own V-Watch upon her request. In other appearances, a younger version of the character, referred to as Young Captain Blue, is fought in battle and possesses abilities such as utilizing a shield, lightning attacks, and matching super-speed capabilities. Certain media also features a character known as Captain Blue Jr., a younger, self-proclaimed hero worshipper who idolizes Capitán Azul and serves as the protector of Blue Town, eagerly awaiting his own V-Watch. Some media adaptations note that his physical appearance, specifically his weight, is occasionally pointed out by other characters, though this is not mentioned in the original games. A younger version of the character did not receive an official name until later media.
