Description
Rie Morita attends the Academy and co-founded an unofficial witchcraft club with Hiroko Takashiro and Saki Shindou. She possesses green hair worn in two long pigtails, secured with small red accessories, and copper-colored eyes. Her Academy uniform is standard school attire. Casually, she wears a sleeveless beige vest over a pink shirt, a small red necktie, a long blue skirt, and blue socks. For witchcraft rituals, she dons a black robe like her peers.
Rie discovered a mysterious grimoire at an antique store and introduced it to the club, leading to experimental spellcasting. She participated in casting a spell that caused student council member Junko Mochida to masturbate publicly during an assembly. While Saki reacts impulsively, Rie displays a reserved and hesitant nature, often trying to calm Saki during confrontations, such as when the student council rejected their club application or Saki directed anger at council president Nami Kozono. Initially loyal to Takashiro, Rie and Saki later shifted their allegiance to Kozono after she assumed leadership of the renamed Rose Cross club.
During preparations for a demonic ritual on Walpurgis Night, Rie and Saki assisted in a practice ritual that culminated in a demon raping Takashiro, shocking them but leaving them unable to intervene. Later, when Takashiro attempted to stop the main ritual, Rie and Saki followed Kozono's orders to restrain and remove her from the basement, apologizing but prioritizing the ritual's completion. As the ritual descended into chaos and Kozono began murdering members, Rie frantically searched the grimoire for a countermeasure. She was killed during this attempt, her blood staining the book's pages and leaving a permanent mark. Takashiro later discovered her corpse.
Rie was chronologically the first character to possess the eponymous grimoire after purchasing it. She appears briefly in flashbacks within the main series, though her design initially differed from her "Origins" depiction, a discrepancy corrected in remastered editions. In the original game, she is referenced under the name Sanae and depicted in a group ritual scene but lacks distinct identification. Rie is one of the few female characters in the series never depicted engaging in sexual acts, though conceptual art suggests such scenes were initially considered. Her role parallels characters like Jun and Maki from the main series as close allies to their club leader.
