Description
Saki Shindou (also called Saki Shito) is a student and founding member of her academy's unofficial witchcraft club, alongside Hiroko Takashiro and Rie Morita. She possesses short brown hair, green eyes, and a somewhat boyish appearance. Quick-tempered and impulsive, Saki readily voices anger towards perceived disrespect, such as when student council members Nami Kozono and Junko Mochida dismiss the club.
Her club involvement centers on occult experimentation. After Rie discovers the "Bible Black" grimoire, Saki actively uses its spells. She suggests targeting Junko Mochida with a spell forcing her to dance naked as retaliation for the student council denying their club application. Following this successful humiliation at a school assembly, Saki expresses a desire to target Kozono next. She later joins Rie and Takashiro in casting love spells for money, significantly expanding the club's influence and resources, leading to access to the school basement and the club's renaming to "Rose Cross."
Saki's loyalty shifts with power dynamics. Initially devoted to Takashiro, she and Rie are horrified when a summoned demon assaults their leader. After Takashiro renounces magic and is hospitalized, Saki and Rie readily accept Kozono's leadership of Rose Cross. When Takashiro later tries to stop the Walpurgis Night ritual to summon the Devil, Saki and Rie follow Kozono's orders without hesitation, physically restraining and removing their former leader.
During the failed ritual, Kozono attacks the club members. Saki is murdered by Kozono immediately after another member is beheaded. Rie attempts a counter-spell but is also killed moments later. Takashiro discovers their corpses upon returning to the basement.
Within the series, Saki and Rie are the only named female characters not depicted engaging in sexual acts. Conceptual art suggested an erotic scene involving them not included in the final official media. Chronologically, Saki Shindou shares her first name with the distinct character Saki Kiriya from "Bible Black: New Testament."
