Description
Kamanosuke Yuri is a 19-year-old male distinguished by a feminine appearance often causing gender confusion. He possesses pale skin, long dark magenta hair tied in a ponytail, green eyes, and a prominent green tattoo near his left eye. This tattoo functions as a power limiter placed during childhood for unspecified reasons.
Initially the cruel and hedonistic leader of mountain bandits, Kamanosuke exhibits bloodthirsty and sadomasochistic tendencies, deriving pleasure from combat and the sight of blood. His bandits used deception, luring travelers by pretending to be an injured woman before robbing and threatening them. After trapping Saizō Kirigakure, Isanami, and Kakei Jūzō on a bridge, Kamanosuke attempted to execute Isanami. Kakei eliminated the henchmen, leading to a battle between Kamanosuke and Saizō that destroyed the bridge and sent Saizō into the river. Their conflict resumed on a mountaintop, ending in Kamanosuke's defeat. Though Kamanosuke passionately requested death, Isanami intervened to spare him.
Following his loss, Kamanosuke developed an obsessive fixation on Saizō, officially described as a "blood fetish" and staking hobby. He exhibits tsundere-like behavior around Saizō, including possessiveness – rescuing Saizō during a fight with Hanzō Hattori and declaring Saizō his "toy" others cannot "play" with. This attachment motivated Kamanosuke to abandon banditry and join Yukimura Sanada's forces, becoming the "wind"-aligned member of the Ten Braves. In this role, he participates in the group's missions, witnessing Isanami's kidnapping by Date Masamune's forces.
Kamanosuke's past remains largely undefined. Raised by mountain bandits with no recollection of earlier history, fragmented memories suggest a more complex origin than bandit life. The manga sequel *Brave 10 Spiral* briefly explores this, confirming the tattoo's role as a limiter but offering no further elaboration on lineage or childhood.
In combat, Kamanosuke wields a kusarigama and manipulates wind-based ninja techniques, primarily unleashing the Great Whirlwind (Ootsumuchi), which projects cutting whirlwinds from the weapon.
