Description
Accidentally summoned by Honmaru Edojo from the Great Magic Encyclopedia during a desperate incantation, Taruruuto proclaims himself a great magician. He resembles a young child with spiky brown hair concealed beneath a helmet and wields an unusually long, prehensile tongue for both combat and eating. His magical abilities prove wildly inconsistent, frequently backfiring or producing unintended effects that dissipate after ten minutes. This chronic unreliability contradicts his confident boasts, cementing his reputation as an inept mage.

Takoyaki, particularly Matsugoro's, dominates his thoughts with obsessive intensity, making him easily distracted and susceptible to food-based manipulation. Despite magical failures, he demonstrates surprising physical prowess, overpowering larger adversaries like Jabao Jaba or Nezo Zakenja through brute strength or tongue-based attacks. He freely alters his body size, shrinking to inhabit Honmaru’s desk drawer or enlarging limbs for offensive maneuvers.

Radiating childlike innocence and ceaseless optimism, Taruruuto rarely succumbs to negativity. He forms an instant, profound bond with Honmaru, declaring him his best friend and exhibiting deep distress during separations. This loyalty ignites fierce protectiveness when Honmaru faces insults, occasionally triggering uncharacteristic rage. His naivety complicates moral judgments, and his presence often unintentionally escalates conflicts despite good intentions. Though experiences like public magical exposure during a school tournament foster maturity, his core traits endure.

His bond with Honmaru evolves into near-inseparable partnership, with Honmaru developing protective instincts despite Taruruuto’s capabilities. Honmaru’s mother Chizuru offers maternal affection, nicknaming him "Taru-chan" and housing him. Relationships with self-proclaimed love interest Mimora and his older sister Ria Kinakamo—later joining him on Earth—further define his interactions.

In "Moero! Yuujou no Mahou Taisen," his magic sparks central conflict when Honmaru uses it to win a martial arts competition against Tsutomu Harako. After Harako uncovers the deception, he pursues rival magical advantages, culminating in a clash with a scheming sorcerer. This underscores how Taruruuto’s powers, while occasionally helpful, often catalyze unintended strife, straining friendships and trust.

Ultimately, Honmaru de-summons Taruruuto post-elementary graduation as a symbol of pursuing independence, concluding their transient bond and highlighting Taruruuto’s role in Honmaru’s growth.
