Description
Daisuke Murakami, a Japanese nuclear researcher and textile trader based in British Kenya during the early 1940s, fled into the Kenyan wilderness with his young son, Wataru Murakami, in 1941. This escape was prompted by fears of persecution from British authorities following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. During their flight, hostile forces, including British soldiers and wildlife like a charging rhinoceros, caused Daisuke and Wataru to become separated. Daisuke was subsequently captured by British forces.

His captivity extended beyond British detainment. Daisuke was later imprisoned by the German scientist Von Gerchin, who secretly developed an atomic bomb in a hidden facility. Daisuke remained Von Gerchin's prisoner for several years, with no contact to his son. His eventual reunion with Wataru occurred only after the destruction of Von Gerchin's atomic bomb facility, an event facilitated by Wataru and his companions, marking the end of their long separation after a significant passage of time.
