An attack by interdimensional creatures called Devastators killed her family and left her paralyzed. Yaesu Industries rescued her, providing cybernetic augmentations that restored her mobility and integrated her into their operations.

She operates as co-pilot of the Vector Versus, a transforming vehicle-mecha developed by Yaesu Industries to combat Devastators. This mecha shifts between a ground-based platforming mode and a flying shoot-'em-up configuration during missions. Nami manages operational control in both combat modes, utilizing the mecha's anchor-blade chain weapon and overseeing secondary weapons systems acquired during operations.

Nami partners with primary pilot Ryo Yatabe during interdimensional missions aimed at preventing Earth's merger with the Devastators' realm. Her history as a Devastator attack survivor and her integration of cybernetic technology directly shape her motivations and role within the conflict.
