Description
Kyouko Asahina is an aspiring filmmaker attending college. Her passion drives a relentless pursuit of perfection in her work, fueled by pressure to top her previous success—an award-winning film at an amateur festival. This intense focus on crafting a flawless follow-up morphs her into a demanding, uncompromising director. She becomes difficult to work with, displaying a tyrannical attitude on set and showing scant regard for her cast and crew's well-being or contributions. Obsession with technical precision and artistic control eclipses her initial love for storytelling and collaboration.

Her behavior escalates to frequent arguments, notably with her lead actress over issues like tardiness. She confronts others aggressively instead of constructively, leading to the actress's departure. This pattern of conflict ultimately causes her entire cast and crew to abandon the project. Simultaneously, her personal relationships crumble; her boyfriend leaves, unable to endure her single-minded work devotion at their relationship's expense. Losing both her support system and creative team compounds her professional failure, culminating in a complete loss of passion for filmmaking. She finds herself isolated, her film project abandoned, her artistic vision extinguished.

Facing this low point, Kyouko undergoes significant personal reflection. With nothing left professionally or personally, she confronts the consequences of her actions and attitudes. This introspection forces her to reevaluate her motivations and rediscover the fundamental reasons she fell in love with filmmaking—moving beyond awards or perfectionism toward genuine creative expression and connection. The process involves acknowledging the harm caused by her previous behavior and understanding the importance of collaboration and empathy in her artistic process. Her journey concludes with a renewed commitment to filmmaking, now grounded in a more balanced and appreciative perspective.
