Like all Colorata, she endured forced relocation to the 86th Sector's internment camps during her youth. As a less common Orienta within the sector, she faced significant discrimination from fellow Eighty-Sixers. Kaie served as a Processor for four years before transferring to the Spearhead Squadron in RY 367 alongside Haruto.

As the oldest Spearhead Squadron member, Kaie possessed a mature worldview. She rejected broad racial generalizations, recognizing that not all Alba were inherently bad nor all Eighty-Sixers morally upright—a perspective shaped by internment camp experiences and squadmate accounts, like Theo's former Alba captain who sacrificed himself and Anju's suffering due to mixed heritage. Kaie communicated honestly, sometimes bluntly, with her Handler, Vladilena Milizé. She frequently teased other members, challenging Shin's claim of illiteracy and playfully mocking Kurena's crush on him.

Her personal mark, a cherry blossom, symbolized life's transient beauty, reflecting her callsign's theme. During a combat sortie, her immobilized Juggernaut in soft terrain left her vulnerable; she was killed by a Legion Löwe unit, becoming the squadron's fourth casualty. Her final words expressed desperate reluctance to die. Post-mortem, her neural pattern was assimilated into the Legion network as a Black Sheep.
