TV-Series
Description
Henrietta von Penrose, nicknamed Annette as an adult and Rita in childhood, is a primary supporting character. She belongs to the Penrose family, former imperial nobles who migrated from the Giadian Empire to the Republic of San Magnolia. Her background includes a close childhood friendship with Shinei Nouzen, stemming from their families' pre-war social ties. When the Republic began oppressing the Colorata minority, her family sheltered Shin's family. After facing bullying for associating with a Colorata boy, she lashed out at Shin and ultimately urged her father to expel his family upon Presidential Order #6609's enactment, directly causing their forced relocation to the Eighty-Sixth Sector internment camps. This decision became a source of lasting profound guilt.
Henrietta forged a friendship with Vladilena Milizé during secondary school. Both academically advanced, they skipped a grade together, making Henrietta Lena's only same-age friend. After her father died during Para-RAID device testing—officially an accident but later revealed as a suicide driven by guilt over betraying the Nouzens and conducting unethical human experimentation—she assumed his role as the Para-RAID system's lead developer. Though she understood the Republic's systemic injustices against the Eighty-Six, she felt powerless to change them, leading to an apathetic stance that functioned as a psychological shield.
Professionally, Henrietta served as a technical officer in the Republic Armed Forces, later transferring to the Federacy's Eighty-Sixth Strike Package. Her expertise lies solely in Para-RAID technology, where she is the leading authority due to inheriting and continuing her father's work. This specialization made her a high-priority Legion target, earning her the callsign "Minerva" after the Roman goddess of wisdom. Her personality is workaholic, often causing her to wake late. She initially maintained a detached, professional demeanor to mask deep-seated guilt, loneliness, and conflict. Interactions with Lena revealed a more complex individual—capable of sass, earnest care, and playful teasing, yet also harboring suppressed resentment towards Lena's idealism, which eventually erupted in a confrontation. Her apathy towards the Eighty-Six largely shielded her from the pain of her betrayal of Shin.
Significant development occurred when she joined the Eighty-Sixth Strike Package, acknowledging this move was partly a selfish endeavor for personal atonement. Sustained interactions with the Eighty-Six veterans, particularly after directly apologizing to Shin for her childhood actions, helped her shed defensive layers. This allowed freer self-expression and lessened the burden of past regrets. While retaining her sharp wit, she became notably less consumed by guilt. A longstanding personal trait is her enjoyment of baking desserts since childhood, despite notoriously poor culinary skills in this area. Her creations were so unpalatable they caused her father to lose consciousness upon tasting them, directly cited as the reason Shin developed a lasting aversion to desserts.
