Description
Rin Rekka, bearing the personal name Burnt Tayl, appears solely in the anime adaptation as a supporting character. She functions as a Processor within the Spearhead Squadron's Sixth Platoon under Kurena Kukumila's command. Her name evokes the folklore image of a female will-o'-the-wisp.

Assigned to the Spearhead Squadron on April 1st, she engaged in unit activities including taking personnel photographs and attending a cherry blossom celebration on April 5th where the squadron witnessed shooting stars. She maintained routine interactions with fellow members: quizzing the logistics drone Fido about edible food alongside Kaie and Haruto on May 1st, playing darts with Myna on May 22nd, and joining group meals. During downtime on June 13th, she participated in laundry by a riverbank with other female members and later joined in punishing male squadmates Daiya, Haruto, and Theoto for peeking. She frequently spent time with Anju in Shin's room, laughing at Kaie's jokes about Handler Lena.

Rin Rekka exhibited skepticism toward Handler Lena, initially assuming her sheltered and unaccustomed to outdoor hardships. During tactical briefings, she displayed amusement when Lena expressed surprise at the squadron's combat anticipation skills. She became visibly somber when Lena questioned Shin about his post-service goals. Her squadron relationships included sharing a room with Kurena and frequent socialization with Myna and Mikuri. She teased Kurena about her one-sided affection for Shin, finding her flustered reactions endearing. She respected Shin's leadership, agreeing with Kujo that Shin should guide them in death rather than perish.

Her combat chronology encompasses the May 22nd engagement resulting in Kujo's loss, the May 29th interception at Point 208, and the June 15th battle leading to Kaie's death. On June 24th, she reacted with horror upon hearing Kaie's assimilated voice among Legion units. Her final mission occurred on July 27th as the squadron passed their former cherry blossom party site. During this engagement, her Juggernaut was immobilized after artillery fire destroyed its leg. Facing an approaching Legion unit, she used her sidearm to end her life, becoming the squadron's seventh casualty. Her last words entrusted the squadron's survival to Shin.

Her symbolic flower is the Dahlia. She carried an internment number identifying her as part of the Republic's persecuted Colorata minority.
