While he socializes with squadron members, he avoids personal disclosures like romantic interests and remains detached from others' opinions.

Upon joining Spearhead, Kino participated in a group photo session and oath-swearing ceremony in the canteen. At an April 5 cherry blossom party celebrating the squadron's formation, he mingled but withheld personal details, later witnessing shooting stars with comrades.

Under Handler Vladilena Milizé's command, Kino engaged in multiple combat operations. On May 29, he assisted Haruto during a Legion interception mission. During downtime, he joined sharpshooter tournaments and board games. In the June 15 battle where Kaie was lost, he covered the fourth squad. He reacted with horror upon hearing Kaie's voice among the Legion's Black Sheep units on June 24.

Kino regarded Raiden Shuga as the squadron's rightful vice-captain and respected Shinei Nouzen's leadership, expressing satisfaction at serving under him. Initially, he held derogatory views of Handler Milizé, using crude insults based on pre-assignment rumors.

His final mission occurred on August 27. During an artillery ambush, shrapnel from a direct hit on Chise's Juggernaut critically damaged his unit, causing his immediate death alongside Chise, Touma, and Kuroto.
