Description
Kaoru Shimojō is a former Japanese national team basketball player who transitioned to coaching. He first served as the demanding head coach for the Mizuho High boys' basketball team. His coaching style is excessively strict and stern, characterized by harsh language towards players and physical confrontations as he demands they meet his high expectations in every match.
His tenure at Mizuho High ended abruptly following an unspecified incident involving player Takumi Fujiwara, leading to his departure. Shimojō subsequently became head coach for Narita Central High's basketball team. Despite his generally uncompromising demeanor, he has shown occasional flexibility. During a practice game against Mizuho, contrary to his usual insistence, he accepted player Moriyama's disagreement regarding player substitutions and followed Moriyama's advice.
At Narita Central, his coaching staff includes assistant coach Tamami Kanō and manager Hiromi Matsūra.
