Description
Yui Takanaka, called "Suzy" Sue in the Streamline Pictures English dub of Part II, is an aspiring dancer residing in Tokyo. Her initial chance encounter with motorcyclist Shogo Yahagi sparks a romance. She shares an apartment with roommates Tomomi Murashita, an aspiring filmmaker, and Mai Yumekano, an aspiring singer.
After the events of Part I, where Shogo is framed for Tomomi's murder and forced underground, Yui experiences significant personal upheaval. By Part II, set six months later, her physical appearance changes, featuring shorter brown hair instead of her previous green hair, symbolizing her emotional transformation and efforts toward self-reliance. She questions Shogo about his prolonged absence and failure to return to their shared loft during his hiding.
Despite challenges, she reunites with Shogo and actively supports his renewed fight against the military government. She aligns with his new allies in the "Trash" motorcycle gang, participating in their mission to contact the AI entity EVE and oppose the regime led by B.D. Her involvement includes navigating abandoned city layers beneath the simulated Tokyo surface alongside Shogo and the gang.
Within the broader franchise's *Blue Garland* storyline, her relationship with Shogo deepens, leading to marriage and the birth of their son, Hiroto Takanaka. Centuries later, as depicted in Part III, a descendant named Eiji Takanaka emerges, presumed to carry her lineage. However, in the alternative continuity of the *Aoi Garland* game, her story concludes when she is killed by a soldier from Megazone 23.
