TV-Series
Description
Gunmax, designated BP-601, operates as a robotic officer in the Brave Police unit. He uniquely lacks a conventional vehicle alternate mode, relying on a specialized motorcycle called the Gun Bike for patrol and transport. This motorcycle serves multiple combat roles: combining with him to create flight-capable GunMax Armor, or jointly transforming into the Max Cannon, a powerful artillery weapon.

Initially assigned to highway patrol, his early career was compromised by his human partner Kirisaki's illegal activities, involving the sale of police weapons and impounded vehicles. This scandal prompted his transfer to the Brave Police. Gunmax originally exhibited a cynical, sarcastic, and overconfident demeanor, favoring solitary operations and actively resisting teamwork with colleagues.

His standard equipment includes a police-issue revolver, a mechanical Brave Police notebook, and a combat shotgun. His primary tactical focus, however, remains the Gun Bike and its transformations. He demonstrates exceptional proficiency with the motorcycle, frequently deploying it aggressively beyond standard combat applications. In the Max Cannon configuration, Gunmax and the Gun Bike dock onto the combined robot J-Decker (formed from BP-110 Deckerd and the J-Roader), amplifying J-Decker's firepower as the J-Decker Max Cannon Mode—one of J-Decker's most decisive finishing attacks.

Extended collaboration with colleague Deckerd and human commander Yuuta Tomonaga facilitated significant personal growth. His initially detached and independent attitude softened over time, leading him to embrace cooperation and evolve into a dependable team member within the Brave Police.

Beyond the television series, he appears in the video games *Brave Saga* and *Brave Saga 2*. In *Brave Saga*, recruitment enables J-Decker to execute the Max Cannon attack. *Brave Saga 2* positions him joining the player’s team earlier than Deckerd, again unlocking the Max Cannon for J-Decker. He also features in *Brave Wars*, becoming accessible during the episode centered on Deckerd's return, though his usability concludes after the "Arch Castle" narrative event.
