Description
Dr. Oedo serves as lead scientist and director of the Promete Project at Tobishima Island, overseeing development of the Space Carrier Jasdum and combat robot Danguard Ace—Earth's last hope to reach the resource-rich planet Promete after Chancellor Doppler destroyed other global initiatives. Following the disappearance of astronaut Dantetsu Ichimonji, accused of betraying the first Promete expedition, Dr. Oedo takes in Dantetsu's son, Takuma Ichimonji. He raises Takuma while mentoring him as a Danguard Ace pilot candidate, convinced the young man can restore his family's honor through the project's success.

Dr. Oedo recruits the mysterious masked pilot Captain Dan after observing his exceptional flying skills during a Doppler attack. Despite Captain Dan's memory loss, Dr. Oedo appoints him primary instructor for Danguard Ace's cadets. He later deduces Captain Dan's true identity as Dantetsu Ichimonji—Takuma's brainwashed father, who escaped Doppler's control. This revelation surfaces amid Captain Dan's struggles with illness and fragmented memories, which Dr. Oedo works to address.

Characterized by intense dedication to technological innovation and problem-solving, Dr. Oedo initially designs Danguard Ace for unarmed settlement purposes, later retrofitting it with weapons salvaged from enemy Mecha Satan units. His analytical approach prioritizes logic and adaptability, maintaining steadfast confidence in Danguard Ace despite skepticism. Reserved in nature, he often works independently or with a small team while demonstrating deep commitment to defending Earth against Doppler. His leadership includes high-stakes decisions like opposing Takuma's unilateral launch in the Satellizer module during an attack, reflecting his protective stance toward the cadets.
