TV-Series
Description
Ivan Whisky, designated Cyborg 001, originated in Russia as a child afflicted by a terminal illness. His father, Gamo Whisky, a brain surgeon, defied objections from Ivan’s mother, Erika, to conduct experimental neural enhancements that saved Ivan’s life and unlocked latent psychic powers. The procedures drove Gamo to insanity, resulting in Erika’s death in certain timelines. Seized by the clandestine organization Black Ghost, Ivan became the inaugural subject of their 00 Cyborg series, displacing Jet Link (later Cyborg 002) as the primary candidate due to his unmatched potential. Incomplete modifications necessitated cryogenic suspension for forty years until technological progress enabled his full transformation.

Physically trapped in an infant’s form with light blue hair, a yellow pacifier, and a crimson baby-gown uniform, Ivan’s intellect eclipses that of adult humans, positioning him as the group’s tactical leader. Restricted to telepathic communication, he employs extrasensory perception to assess threats and guide allies. His telekinesis targets only inanimate or unconscious entities, while teleportation serves as a strategic asset. Overuse of these abilities induces extended restorative sleep, though imminent danger can rouse him temporarily.

Within the OVA *Conclusion: GOD'S WAR*, Ivan awakens dormant psychic potential in fellow cyborgs, amplifying their powers. He projects an astral form to act while his body recuperates, later teleporting Cyborg 009 into space during the climactic Skull confrontation—a calculated gamble underscoring his utilitarian ethos. This contrasts sharply with teammates’ emotional responses, cementing his role as a dispassionate strategist.

Curious yet composed, Ivan exhibits childlike intrigue toward allies’ abilities, occasionally testing group cohesion. He rejects patronizing treatment, asserting his maturity despite his appearance. The loss of Erika fuels an emotional dependence on 003, whose maternal instincts provide solace. In crossovers such as *Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman*, he leads against supernatural foes, deploying psychic barriers and energy attacks while adhering to his core vulnerabilities. The 2001 anime iteration clarifies his 1960s abduction and revival as a "First Generation" cyborg, highlighting his temporal displacement from newer recruits.
