TV-Series
Description
Geronimo Jr., codenamed Cyborg 005, is a Native American from the southwestern United States. Facing severe employment discrimination due to his ethnicity, he endured prolonged unemployment. In one account, he rejected a demeaning sideshow offer requiring him to portray Native American stereotypes, physically confronting the proposer. Desperate and lacking stable residence, he accepted a deceptive job opportunity from Black Ghost operatives that took him far from home. An alternate version depicts him as a construction worker lured by a promising job offer from undercover Black Ghost agents.

Following his abduction, Black Ghost subjected him to extensive cybernetic enhancements, marking the resumption of their cyborg soldier program after a technological hiatus. These modifications significantly amplified his existing physical strength and endurance, adhering to a new design philosophy focused on enhancing inherent human traits rather than adding unrelated capabilities. Consequently, he possesses immense superhuman strength, enabling him to lift and hurl massive objects like boulders effortlessly. He also gained nearly indestructible armored skin, making him exceptionally resilient in combat. This approach allowed him to utilize his enhanced capabilities immediately and effectively.

Physically, he is the largest and most imposing member of the 00 Cyborg team, characterized by tan skin, tribal facial markings, a muscular build, and often a short mohawk hairstyle. He typically wears the team's signature red military uniform during missions. Despite his formidable appearance and role as the team's primary physical powerhouse, his personality is predominantly calm, reserved, and gentle. He exhibits deep reverence for nature and life, frequently meditating or quietly observing his surroundings. He rarely speaks, preferring to express himself through actions. This peaceful disposition contrasts with his combat role, where he fights threats with grim determination and resolve.

Beyond his cybernetic enhancements, some continuities suggest he possesses a unique sixth sense or empathic ability tied to his Native American heritage, allowing him to perceive imbalances in nature and potentially sense the thoughts or emotions of others, though not explicitly confirmed as psychic in all adaptations. Following the initial defeat of Black Ghost, he attempted peaceful civilian life working on a farm, but returned to active duty when threats emerged, demonstrating his commitment to protecting others despite a preference for tranquility. He experienced significant personal tragedy when forced into a lethal confrontation with his childhood friend Cochise, who had been transformed into an antagonistic cyborg by Black Ghost and controlled via a cybernetic totem pole. He killed Cochise to free him from manipulation, an act that deeply affected him.

During the later storyline "Conclusion: GOD'S WAR," 001 unlocked latent psychic abilities within the 00 Cyborgs, resulting in a further augmentation to his already extraordinary physical strength.
