Black Ghost operatives intercepted her despite her brother's intervention. Following capture, she underwent extensive cybernetic modification. Her primary enhancements grant superhuman sensory capabilities, including seeing through solid objects and detecting distant sounds or movements. Lacking combat weaponry like most teammates, she serves a supportive role. She assists with tactical coordination under Dr. Gilmore and cares for the infant cyborg Ivan Whisky (001). Field experience later honed her skills as a pilot, technician, and mechanic.

A significant gap exists between her chronological age and physical appearance due to prolonged cryogenic suspension after capture at age 19. Preserved alongside other cyborgs until Black Ghost's technology advanced, she remains physically youthful while chronologically in her 50s during the 2001 anime timeline. A recurring narrative element explores a romantic connection between her and Joe Shimamura (009).

During "Conclusion: GOD'S WAR," Ivan Whisky (001) activated latent psychic abilities within the team. This awakening granted Francoise clairvoyance, precognition, and telepathy, vastly expanding her threat detection and strategic support capacity beyond her original sensory functions.
