Description
Jet Link, designated Cyborg 002, began as an American teenager leading a gang in the Bronx during the 1960s. His life violently shifted when police surrounded a clash with rivals. Confronted by a Black Ghost operative, he chose abduction over prison; some accounts state he accidentally killed a rival leader during this fight, cementing his fugitive status.
Black Ghost subjected Jet to extensive cybernetic modification. He emerged with foot-integrated thrusters enabling Mach 5 flight and a prototype Accelerator module. This module allowed movement faster than light from his perspective, causing him to seemingly vanish to observers, and served as the basis for the refined Accelerator later used in Cyborg 009. Due to technological limitations, Jet and three other early cyborgs (001, 003, 004) entered cryogenic stasis for roughly four decades until advancements allowed reactivation.
Personality-wise, Jet initially resisted teamwork, displaying a cocky demeanor and volatile temper. Underneath lay loyalty and compassion.
