TV-Series
Description
Crafted by Professor Hiyoshi Gō, Tako-chan is a crimson-hued, octopus-inspired robot with jet-black eyes and advanced aerial capabilities. Functioning as the Voltes team’s sixth member, it assists in diverse missions through its adaptable skill set. Initial skepticism about its utility dissolved during a critical operation in a labyrinth of aggressive, entangling ivy, where Tako-chan decisively liberated the trapped team. Its value deepened when components were salvaged to restore Professor Hiyoshi’s damaged Volt Machine, integrating it permanently into the group’s tactical framework.

In a subsequent live-action iteration, the robot reemerges as Octo-1 under the development of Little Jon. Mirroring its predecessor’s scarlet cephalopod design and aerial prowess, Octo-1 upholds the role of indispensable auxiliary to the Voltes team.

Embodying Hiyoshi’s lifelong passion for marine exploration—forged through his history as a competitive swimmer and diver—Tako-chan’s aquatic-inspired form symbolizes the synergy between technology and nature. Its legacy highlights how unconventional allies, through ingenuity and collaboration, become pivotal in overcoming formidable challenges.
