TV-Series
Description
Hiroshi Izumi is the husband of Saori Izumi and father of Ken and Caron Izumi. He sports a mustache and typically wears a blue suit, with blue eyes (though animation errors sometimes depict them as orange). Referenced as a physician in dialogue, his medical practice remains unseen; his wife once forgot his profession, and he made derogatory comments about a mental hospital. He exhibits a stern yet caring demeanor towards his family, actively supporting Ken's missions against alien threats. He expresses trust in Ken's abilities while voicing concern for his safety, prioritizing the protection of his wife and children.

In one significant incident (episode 26), he was involved in a hit-and-run that caused a young girl's amnesia. He brought her home instead of immediately contacting authorities, later cooperating with police; this event was revealed as part of an alien plot. The *Boken-O* manga adaptation expands his background significantly, portraying him as a scientist with expertise in astronomy and engineering. Three years before the main events, he designed and built Ken's Chargeman suit, gadgets, and transformation devices after receiving an alien warning about an impending invasion. He directly tasked Ken with defending Earth.

He occasionally participates directly in confrontations with the Duralian aliens, such as jumping off a horse (later revealed as a disguised Duralian) to assist Ken. He possesses relevant scientific knowledge, operating a specialized "atosmith" beam device capable of destroying cancer cells or, at increased power, melting living organisms. His personality includes moments of dry humor, like joking about ice skating resembling "ice rolling" or remarking about introducing "the most beautiful woman in the world" after a traumatic event. While generally portrayed as a responsible family man, secondary media and fanworks sometimes depict him negatively. His character remains consistent as a supporting parental figure across episodes, with no substantial development or backstory beyond his familial and incidental heroic roles.
