TV-Series
Description
Korn Kitsunezuka stands as the primary antagonist of the series. Holding the position of Prime Minister on Edoropolis's royal council, he publicly poses as Emperor Fred's loyal advisor while secretly plotting to overthrow the government and seize the city for himself. His ambition drives the central conflict; he operates as the supreme commander of the Ninja Crows clan, dispatching them and villainous mecha to execute schemes aimed at destabilizing the ruling Tokugawa shogunate.
He belongs to the fox species in the original Japanese continuity, altered to a rat in the English adaptation to emphasize the natural enmity between cats and rats. Despite this species change, he retains distinctive physical characteristics: purple attire, a red-pink haori with detached sleeves, and a bushy robotic tail reminiscent of his original fox design. His height is 145 cm (4'8") and weight is 40 kg.
His personality exhibits extreme flamboyance, a propensity for overacting, and frequent crossdressing, often appearing in feminine clothing or working part-time as a geisha under the alias Ageyakko. He possesses a volatile temper, frequently exploding literally when angered, excited, or experiencing strong emotions. These explosions leave him covered in soot and typically wreck his surroundings, though he consistently emerges with only minor slapstick injuries. He displays romantic or suggestive behavior towards male subordinates, particularly Jerry Atric (Gennarisai), using pet names like "Gen-chan" or "Jere". While predominantly showing interest in males, episodes like "Singing Samurai Sensai-tion" suggest he may also possess bisexual tendencies.
He maintains a large, international extended family involved in global crime, sharing his tendency to explode when angered. Within the political structure, he has a contentious relationship with Big Al Dente (Inuyama Wankō-no-Kami), the chief of the Palace Guard, who is aware of his ambitions but struggles to prove them due to plausible deniability. He outwardly serves Princess Vi but privately holds contempt for both her and the Emperor, frequently expressing frustration with her behavior and openly defying her commands on occasions like the episode "Son of Big Cheese". He views the Ninja Crows with minimal respect, treating them as disposable minions.
Early in the Japanese version, he was more secretive about his villainy and crossdressing. Episodes like "Kind of a Drag" depicted nightmares about societal rejection if his crossdressing were exposed. Over time, he became more open about wearing dresses and feminine attire, even in council settings. His character's depiction evolved across adaptations, with original Japanese elements involving explicit homophobic slurs directed at him (such as "okama") being toned down or removed in the English dub and later Discotek subtitled release.
Despite lacking direct combat participation, he possesses some boxing training, though not to the level of the Ninja Crows or Jerry Atric. He shares a fear of earthquakes with Speedy. His plans are invariably thwarted, typically by the Samurai Pizza Cats or due to his own incompetence, maintaining his status as a persistent but unsuccessful threat.
