TV-Series
Description
Gandal commands the Vegan Empire’s military campaigns against Earth as King Vega’s mercilessly loyal general. Concealed within a protective suit, his body hosts a parasitic counterpart—Lady Gandal—who erupts through his split visage. Once an independent red-haired strategist in a crimson uniform, Lady Gandal merged with Gandal after her physical destruction, reshaping his appearance into an androgynous form marked by bold makeup, arched brows, and a crystalline forehead emblem.

Gandal’s rigid loyalty drives him to deploy brute-force tactics and frontal assaults, while Lady Gandal schemes with opportunistic pragmatism, even plotting Vega’s assassination to secure her own power. Their symbiotic existence fuels constant ideological clashes, though Gandal’s devotion prevails—evidenced by his self-destructive final charge against Grendizer, choosing loyalty over life after fatal wounds. Between battles, he numbs his tensions with habitual alcohol consumption.

From the Skull Moon base, Gandal directs saucer fleets and Vega Beasts against Earth, though repeated defeats by Grendizer expose his tactical limitations, forcing Vega to pair him with Zuril post-Blaki’s demise. Post-merger, their shared form becomes a battleground for strategic discord, Lady Gandal’s manipulative instincts often overriding his direct methods. She nearly assassinates Vega using the Vega Beast Gragra, but Gandal seizes control, fatally shooting himself to purge her influence before kamikaze-attacking Grendizer, perishing alongside the Vegan Mothership in boiling seas.

Expanded media iterations, like *Super Robot Wars*, preserve his core duality while introducing fluid gender expression, heightening the tension within his shared existence. His relentless clashes with Duke Fleed mirror the Vegan Empire’s war against Earth, with no supplementary lore altering his established arcs across spin-offs or films.
