Description
Greejeeber is a Decepticon within the Aligned continuity family's Adventure segment, corresponding to the Robots in Disguise (2015) series. He possesses a hotheaded temperament and prides himself immensely on his physical strength. A master of multiple Cybertronian martial arts, including Crystalocution, Greejeeber constantly seeks to prove his superiority by defeating the Autobots' strongest warrior, the Dinobot Grimlock.
His mission effectiveness is often hampered by a strained partnership with the Decepticon Roadblock. Their incompatible personalities and working styles generate significant friction that impedes success. During downtime, Greejeeber relaxes through sauna baths.
Physically, Greejeeber was released as a Deluxe-class toy in Takara Tomy's Adventure line in March 2015. This figure is a redeco of the Warrior-class Strongarm mold, transforming into an off-road truck. It includes a rifle accessory mountable in both robot and vehicle modes via 5mm ports. A scannable insignia for a companion app exists on his robot-mode right chestplate, though the packaging featured a fake, non-scannable decal to prevent unauthorized pre-purchase scanning. The figure was also released identically in a two-pack with Grimlock (TAV VS02) on the same date.
The character serves as an explicit homage to the original Greejeeber from the 2000 Car Robots series. Both share core traits: martial arts mastery, a focus on defeating powerful opponents like Grimlock, and a fondness for sauna baths. This connection is reinforced by the shared naming convention and character concept.
The original character appeared in the 2001 Robots in Disguise cartoon named Rollbar (retaining the Japanese name Greejeeber). As part of the Commandos combiner team forming Ruination, Rollbar/Greejeeber displayed a more restrained personality than his teammates. He practiced Crystalocution and other Earth martial arts like jujitsu, enjoyed sauna baths and rainy days, and possessed a vague Southern accent in the English dub. The 2015 Adventure iteration directly echoes these established character elements from the 2000/2001 incarnation.
