Description
Bloodman, an Etherious forged by Zeref, operated as a high-ranking enforcer within Emperor Spriggan’s elite Spriggan 12. Dubbed the Grim Reaper, his fearsome visage blended demonic and spectral elements: a jagged black-and-red breastplate, a crimson oni mask etched with glowing yellow eyes, and a shadowy robe obscuring his lower half. His hulking, muscular stature amplified his aura of dread. Ruthless and arrogant, he reveled in carnage, dispatching foes without remorse while invoking the god of death. Prolonged duels against resilient adversaries like Gajeel Redfox ignited his sadistic zeal, as he savored their suffering before delivering fatal blows.

His combat prowess hinged on three Seals. The First Seal dissolved his body into intangible Magical Barrier Particles—toxic miasma lethal to unprotected foes—granting immunity to most attacks until he struck physically. The Second Seal unleashed a tide of life-draining skulls, while the Third Seal, Over Skelter, transformed him into a swirling vortex of energy and skeletal remains to ensnare victims for the underworld. He wielded the Nine Demon Gates’ Curses: Thorn Curse impaled targets with barbed tendrils, Bomb Curse detonated enemies on contact, and Macro enslaved minds. Rare among demons, his Ice Devil Slayer Magic let him command ice and nullify cold-based assaults.

During the Alvarez invasion of Ishgar, Bloodman slaughtered Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus forces. Against Gajeel Redfox and Levy McGarden, he flooded the battlefield with poison via Tenchi Kaimei and tore through space with Tenga Goken’s slashes. Gajeel countered by consuming his particles, triggering Iron Mode to shatter his intangible form. As his body disintegrated, Bloodman conjured a death-portal to drag Gajeel into oblivion, but the ploy failed.

Neinhart later resurrected him as a Historia—a spectral puppet bound to the emperor’s will—retaining his powers but stripped of free will. This illusionary form clashed with Rogue Cheney and Minerva Orland before crumbling under their assault.

Weaknesses included vulnerability to Light and Holy Magic, which disrupted his curses and particles. Offensive actions briefly nullified his intangibility, creating exploitable gaps. Despite these flaws, his relentless tactics, diverse curses, and unyielding ferocity cemented his standing among the Spriggan 12’s deadliest.
