Description
Ririka Moriya starts her story as a cheerful, energetic fourth-grade student at Shirabato Gakuen. She lives with her parents, younger brother, and grandmother, displaying a gentle yet slightly clumsy nature. Her interests include cakes and cartoons such as Mekimeki Tonight. On her tenth birthday, transfer student Nozomu Kanou gifts her a magical nurse cap and reveals his true identity as Kanon from Queen Earth. This cap enables her transformation into Nurse Angel, the legendary guardian deity charged with finding the Flower of Life to create a Green Vaccine and save both Earth and Queen Earth from the Dark Joker organization.
Initially hesitant and struggling with her new duties, Ririka gradually accepts her role driven by a growing sense of responsibility. Her transformation physically alters her, lengthening her blonde hair and increasing her height, while her demeanor shifts to become more serious and focused. As Nurse Angel, she wields a baton for energy attacks and relies on the finite Green Vaccine as her power source. Her primary motivation stems from her deep devotion to Kanon, whom she loves unrequitedly as he remains loyal to Princess Helena of Queen Earth. This dynamic fuels her determination to aid him, though she remains unaware of the feelings harbored by her childhood friend and neighbor, Seiya Uzaki, who consistently supports her.
Ririka faces significant trials. After Kanon succumbs to the Black Vaccine and refuses treatment with the scarce Green Vaccine, he dies, leaving Ririka devastated. She nearly abandons her mission but resumes her duties following Seiya's encouragement. Kanon's subsequent resurrection by Dark Joker forces her to confront his betrayal while clinging to faith in his true nature. She ultimately helps purify him, demonstrating her unwavering compassion. This compassion extends to others, such as Dewey, a former Dark Joker agent whom she heals despite his past allegiance. Her core belief solidifies: "I don’t want anyone to die in front of me," driving her commitment to protect all life.
The discovery that the seed of the Flower of Life is sealed within her own life force presents a pivotal choice. To bloom the flower and save both planets, she must sacrifice herself. On her eleventh birthday, after celebrating with loved ones, she accepts this fate, requesting Kanon erase memories of her to spare others grief. She vanishes, appearing to fulfill her destiny. However, she later awakens amid the bloom of the Flower of Life, resurrected and reunited with her world. Her development concludes with her entering sixth grade alongside Seiya, hinting at their deepening bond. In the manga continuity, she attends Kanon and Helena’s wedding with Seiya four years later, now recognizing her romantic feelings for him, culminating in a confession, kiss, and marriage promise.
