Description
Neinhart serves as a high-ranking officer within Emperor Spriggan’s elite Spriggan 12, commanding his eponymous Neinhart Squad in the Alvarez Empire. Though his past remains shrouded, records place him residing in a castle before his ascension to the imperial guard. Notably, he once ignored a critical war council summoned by Zeref despite proximity to the gathering.

During the Alvarez invasion of Ishgar, he anchored his forces aboard a ship at Hargeon Port, eschewing direct battle until Erza Scarlet, Jellal Fernandes, and Kagura Mikazuchi confronted him. Wielding his signature Historia of the Dead Magic, he conjured spectral replicas of deceased figures tied to his foes’ histories—Simon, Ikaruga, Azuma, and Kyôka—weaponizing their adversaries’ emotional bonds to unleash psychological and physical assaults. These echoes retained genuine memories, personalities, and combat skills, though diminished in power. While the tactic initially destabilized his opponents, Erza’s tenacity and Kagura’s determination shattered the illusions, culminating in Jellal’s Grand Chariot spell blasting Neinhart into the ocean.

He later resurfaced alongside surviving Spriggan allies, deploying Historias of fallen comrades God Serena, Wahl Eehto, and Bloodman to reinforce imperial troops. Empowered by Irene Belserion’s enchantments, he temporarily overwhelmed Brandish μ and Lucy Heartfilia before Natsu Dragneel’s explosive assault left him battered and unconscious.

In the sequel’s Water Dragon God arc, he remained imprisoned with Invel Yura for scheming to reignite global conflict.

Neinhart’s personality blends defiance, egotism, and cunning manipulation. He openly disparages peers like Wahl Eehto and Dimaria Yesta while savoring enemies’ anguish through his Historias. Despite his arrogance, he harbors deference toward Irene Belserion, fearing her retribution after Erza—her daughter—disrupted his magic. His abilities enable him to extract memories and materialize the dead, though these manifestations fade if targets sever emotional attachments. He supplements his tactics with Wind and Blast Magic for offensive strikes, offset by limited physical resilience.

Visually distinguished by long purple hair tied in a ponytail, purple eyes, and an effeminate bearing, he dons ornate green armor embellished with purple rose motifs and trapezoidal patterns over a frilled yellow shirt. White fur trims his shoulders and hips, while purple floral earrings, dark trousers, and armored greaves complete his regal yet combative aesthetic.
