Description
Hong-nyang, also known as Ran Pao Pao, is a demon shifting between two distinct forms. Her initial appearance is that of a crimson-haired child around eight years old, marked by elven ears and a vocabulary limited mostly to grunts and roars. This form carries the moniker Hong-nyang or "Crimson Girl." She can metamorphose into the towering adult entity Lang Pao-Pao ("Wolf Rage-Rage"), standing eight feet tall with pallid skin, flaring red hair, elongated teeth, fully crimson eyes, and a muscular build. This fearsome shape sprouts two additional arms beneath her original pair, granting enhanced strength, claws, fangs, and razor-sharp senses—including discriminatory smell and taste.

Originally bound to the demon Chokai, her transformations were once commanded by a special whistle. Its sound forced her into Lang Pao-Pao's form, compelling obedience as Chokai's bodyguard and enforcer. His demise severed this tie. After Pai saved her life twice, Hong-nyang pledged unwavering loyalty, viewing Pai as an elder sister. She now serves among Pai’s protectors and devotees.

Irritable and feral in both guises, she fiercely shields Pai and allies—especially Yakumo, whom she teases yet favors. As Lang Pao-Pao, her bloodlust ignites against perceived threats, leading to merciless assaults. Her semi-animal instincts also gift her with acute danger perception, often flaring around strangers.

Beyond shape-shifting, her Lang Pao-Pao state wields formidable combat prowess: heightened strength, speed, leaping agility, and natural weaponry like claws and fangs. Both forms share keen senses, including tracking aptitude. Parvati, Pai’s Sanjiyan aspect, can summon Lang Pao-Pao through dimensional gates. The whistle’s control over her faded after her allegiance shifted to Pai, particularly if orders jeopardized Pai’s safety.
