Chōguǐ (or Chōkai) operates as a high-ranking subordinate to the demon Benares, primary enforcer for forces seeking Kaiyanwang's resurrection. Commanding numerous lesser demons, including the powerful enforcer he nicknames "Ran Pao Pao," Chōguǐ relentlessly pursues his mission: locating and destroying mystical Konron portals, gateways to the Sanjiyan Unkara race's seichi. To achieve this, he deploys specialized magic circles and enchanted talismans inscribed with celestial calligraphy, generating explosive attacks and containment spells. Despite his bulky frame, he is proficient in martial arts combat.

Chōguǐ manifests in two distinct forms. His common guise presents as an ordinary Chinese human male, featuring a whisker-like mustache, round dark spectacles, a fedora hat, and a heavy trench coat for discreet operations. In combat or when feeding, he shifts into his true demonic state: a significantly larger, muscular entity retaining the spectacles and whiskers but now sporting elongated teeth. This form unfolds his torso into a void filled with tentacles capable of consuming adversaries.

His relationship with Ran Pao Pao is strictly that of master and subordinate. Following Chōguǐ's demise during the events of Seima Densetsu, Ran Pao Pao abandons service to Kaiyanwang's faction and becomes a devoted servant to Pai.
