Description
Ajeel Raml, the Desert King, is a dark-skinned, muscular figure with untamed brown hair and the Alvarez Empire’s crest etched below his right shoulder. His flamboyant attire blends gold adornments, a draped light-gold neck cloth, billowing trousers, and a forehead-concealing scarf patterned with watchful eyes.

Once a prince of a minor Alvarez nation, he rose to prominence as a Spriggan 12 commander under Emperor Zeref, earning his moniker through ruthless mastery of Sand Magic. Leading the Ajeel Squad, he flaunted a brash, combative nature, openly flouting decorum toward higher-ranking allies. Arrogant and merciless, he reveled in proclaiming himself a god within his sandstorms, demanding supplication from foes. Yet he tempered this bravado with shrewd deference to powerhouses like August and Zeref, avoiding direct challenges to their dominance.

In the Alvarez invasion of Ishgar, he besieged Magnolia Town, deploying sand golems, devouring quicksand, and the cataclysmic Sand World—a storm swallowing entire cityscapes where he asserted divine control. He ensnared Erza Scarlet in a desiccating sand tomb and nearly crushed Natsu Dragneel before dual defeats: Erza’s aquatic blade negated his parching magic, while Bisca Connell’s artillery shattered his storm. Later humbled by Elfman and Lisanna Strauss, he avoided execution through his grandfather Yajeel’s plea.

Postwar, Ajeel ascended as Alvarez’s emperor following Zeref’s demise, abandoning conquest for reconstruction. Accounts describe a tempered ruler fostering stability, even mentoring Fairy Tail’s Max Alors in his signature Raml Sayf technique. Though still prickly—mocking peers like Irene Belserion for perceived pretenses—he retains guarded respect for Yajeel, tolerating the elder’s eccentricities. His trajectory shifts from bloodthirsty conqueror to pragmatic leader, balancing lingering pride with newfound accountability for his empire’s survival.
