Description
Before the Great Kanto Hellquake, Kawamori worked as a mall security guard. When the disaster struck, sinking the building and creating the subterranean settlement known as Evil Town, his role and morality underwent a complete transformation. Facing dwindling resources and a collapse of social order, he participated in the systematic rape of female survivors, an act that would later define his brutal rise to power. Kawamori became an authority figure within Section A, one of the primary survivor factions, where he enforced order through ruthless and often fatal measures.

Kawamori is defined by his cowardice, opportunism, and a complete lack of empathy. He is a bully who wields his authority to commit cruel acts, such as executing a young boy named Kinichi for stealing ham. He has no loyalty to any person or ideal, only to his own survival and immediate self-interest. When his position within Section A becomes threatened, he does not hesitate to betray his allies. His motivations are primal and selfish, driven by a desire for power, security, and the ability to indulge in violence and sexual assault without consequence.

In the story of the Evil Town arc, Kawamori plays the role of a treacherous facilitator. After the survivors unearthed the powerful being Violence Jack, Kawamori initially presented him as a weapon for Section A to use against the rival Section B biker gang. However, when Aila Mu, the leader of Section C, revealed Kawamoris past crimes to Jack, the tide turned. Facing retribution, Kawamori betrayed Section A, murdering Mayor Tahei Shibaki and his own allies before defecting to the side of Mad Saulus, the leader of Section B. He actively participated in Section Bs subsequent assault on the women of Section C, using deceitful tactics like luring a defender away by urinating in the shadows to facilitate her brutal murder.

Key relationships for Kawamori are defined by exploitation and betrayal. He initially collaborates with Mayor Tahei Shibaki to preserve Section As resources. Later, he attempts to ally himself with Mad Saulus, viewing the gang leader as a stronger protector than his own faction. His interactions with Violence Jack are adversarial from the moment Jack allies with Jacks victims. The character demonstrates little to no development; he begins as a predator and a coward and remains one until his death. He does not repent or change his ways, only shifting his allegiance to whichever side allows him to continue his atrocities.

Kawamori possesses no superhuman or special abilities. His only notable skill is his ruthlessness and his willingness to betray others for personal gain. He is a mundane human whose capacity for violence and treachery makes him dangerous in the lawless setting of Evil Town. His end varies between adaptations. In the anime adaptation, while attempting to rape Aila Mu, he is stabbed in the back and killed by Blue, Mad Saulus's lieutenant. In the manga continuity, he meets his end at the hands of Mad Saulus himself, who crushes him underfoot. In both versions, his death serves as a moment of comeuppance for a character who represents the complete degradation of humanity in a world without law.
