Description
Lt. Geoffrey Kurtz commands the Aphrodian Freedom Force's specialized Bloodhound Squadron. After the Ishtar invasion of Io, he forcibly enlists the civilian monobike team, the Killer Commandos, following their unsuccessful attack on an Ishtar tank, recognizing their value as skilled riders for the resistance.

Kurtz adopts a pragmatic, strategically calculated approach to warfare, viewing personnel and equipment as expendable assets for achieving objectives. This perspective fuels immediate animosity with the rebellious and undisciplined protagonist Hiro. To resolve the conflict and secure Hiro's compliance, Kurtz proposes a high-stakes monobike race across a hazardous ravine, offering the Commandos' freedom if Hiro wins. Despite Hiro's ten-second head start, Kurtz overtakes and disables Hiro's monobike, enforcing his agreement to join the squadron.

During the climactic battle to retake Io, Kurtz personally leads the Bloodhound Squadron assault but is incapacitated when his monobike is disabled. The operation ultimately succeeds largely due to Hiro's subsequent actions against General Donner. In the conflict's aftermath, Kurtz presents Hiro with his own monobike as a token of respect and goodwill, symbolizing the end of their adversarial relationship.

Kurtz's character design—blond hair, frequent use of sunglasses or a helmet visor—and manipulative leadership style draw intentional parallels to the archetype established by the iconic character Char Aznable from the *Gundam* franchise.
