Dr. Richardson, adapted from Professor Souzou Amachi, is a scientist who created the formidable "tekka" alloy and the "Teksetter" system. This technology enables compatible humans to transform into Tekkaman—an armored warrior with augmented strength, space-survival capabilities, and the Tek Lancer weapon. He additionally designed the flying robot "Pegas" as Tekkaman's transport. Commanding the "Space Angel" mission to discover a "Second Earth" for humanity, his efforts shifted after Waldarian aliens destroyed the vessel. He then focused entirely on countering this alien threat using his inventions, aided by his daughter Patricia Richardson (Hiromi in Japanese). Unbeknownst to many, Dr. Richardson is simultaneously Emperor Devoral, leader of the antagonistic Waldarian forces. This duality establishes him as the primary adversary against Earth's defenders.
