Susanoh, a Shinto god, intervenes in the conflict surrounding the ancient dragon lord and the possessed human Terumi. Seeking a vessel to combat the dragon, he approaches Kouichi, Terumi’s childhood friend, requesting possession of his body. Susanoh requires Kouichi’s consent and reveals a dire condition: to fully destroy the dragon, the host must die. This forces Kouichi into a harrowing choice between survival and halting the dragon’s destruction.

After Kouichi’s reluctant agreement, Susanoh takes control of his form. He encounters Sayoko, a priestess who provides context about the ongoing war among the gods and its history. Bound by the constraints of this divine conflict, Susanoh acts solely as a warrior god tasked with defeating the dragon.

His presence fuels intense internal conflict within Kouichi, who struggles to reconcile Susanoh’s lethal mission with his own desire to save Terumi. Susanoh’s existence remains tethered to Kouichi’s body throughout their journey, his divine nature and objectives unchanging. He functions purely as an opposing force against the dragon’s corruption.
