Takateru Sage is a martial artist navigating near-future Tokyo, a city reduced to ruins by a catastrophic earthquake and ruled by criminal syndicates. Marked by a distinctive scar, he survives through formidable combat skills in this lawless landscape. His actions center on an urgent mission: rescuing his younger sister, Kiyomi Suga, after her kidnapping by the powerful Koryukai crime organization. This quest pits him directly against the syndicate’s leadership.

During his search, he allies with unconventional fighters—Miyuki Mamiya, a cross-dressing musician; Ryo Hamura, an ex-military operative; Father Owen, a combat-experienced priest; and Sister Saeko, a weapon-wielding nun protecting orphans. Their coalition forms partly due to the Koryukai’s threat to the church community sheltering the orphans.

The narrative unveils Takateru as the reincarnation of an ancient warrior destined to battle a recurring evil across centuries. His final confrontation with Koryukai boss Oshita reveals Oshita is possessed by Johakyu, a centuries-old demonic entity embodying the conflict’s source. This duel fulfills a prophecy tied to the cyclical reincarnation of legendary fighters.
