Folly Maya, born Fia Arcana, is the daughter of a renowned sorcerer specializing in magical talismans and Shadow Skills. After her father perished in battle, Sui Rem law compelled her, as his disciple, to cast aside her birth name until avenging his killer. Adopting the name Faulink Maya, she later became known as "The Plasmatizer."

Convinced Elle Ragu was her father's murderer, Maya dedicated herself to vengeance. She confronted Elle using the forbidden Nothingness Talisman during a conflict that triggered a mine collapse, trapping Maya beneath the rubble. Elle rescued her, prompting Maya to doubt Elle's guilt. Choosing to understand Elle's true nature, Maya began traveling alongside her.

Maya's journey transformed resentment into profound friendship with Elle. She came to see Elle as a "child of light" and herself as a "child of darkness," adopting an older-sister role and often serving as Elle's moral compass. Her quest ultimately revealed Louie Francil, another of her father's disciples, as the true killer. Louie had plotted for Maya and Elle to destroy each other, enabling him to seize their master's powers and status. This revelation cemented Maya's bond with Elle following Louie's defeat by Gau Ban.

The manga later discloses Maya married Woaks Porelo in Juliannes four years prior, at age fifteen. She abandoned the marriage shortly after to pursue vengeance for her father. Notably, Maya possesses exceptionally poor culinary skills, a recurring element within the series.
