Description
Meredy, alternatively romanized as Meldy or Merudy, originated from a village destroyed by Grimoire Heart members, including Ultear Milkovich. Despite Ultear's part in the devastation, she recognized the orphaned girl's magical potential and brought her into the dark guild. Unaware of Ultear's role, Meredy developed a deep attachment, viewing her as a surrogate mother. Under Hades, Grimoire Heart's master, she mastered the Lost Magic Maguilty Sense, ascending to become one of the elite Seven Kin of Purgatory. Her duty was locating magical keys to awaken the dark wizard Zeref.
Initially, Meredy exhibited a stoic, robotic demeanor on missions, describing enemy "extermination" as her "prime directive." She assigned Fairy Tail members numerical elimination rankings, prioritizing Gray Fullbuster for his perceived connection to Ultear's past pain. Despite this outward ruthlessness, she displayed childlike excitement and insecurity, especially when reprimanded by Ultear. During the Tenrou Island conflict, she battled Erza Scarlet and Juvia Lockser, utilizing Maguilty Sense abilities: Maguilty Sodom (teal blades targeting pain receptors) and Maguilty Rays (yellow magical blades). She established a Sensory Link between Juvia and Gray, forcing them to share pain, and later linked herself to both, threatening suicide to ensure Gray's death. Physically, she grew taller with a more curvaceous figure, adopting attire comprising a low-neckline red dress, black stockings, brown boots, and a dark brown earmuff headpiece. Her personality shifted significantly; she became cheerful, modest, and playful, exhibiting witty humor like teasing Gray and Lucy with her Sensory Link or mocking Jellal's deception of Erza.
