Description
Yukino Agria is a Celestial Spirit Mage, initially a member of Fiore's strongest guild, Sabertooth, during Fairy Tail's seven-year absence. She is the younger sister of Sorano, once known as Angel of the dark guild Oración Seis. An attack by Zeref's followers in her childhood killed her parents and resulted in Sorano's abduction, forging Yukino's resolve to oppose Zeref.
Slender with short light-blue hair and brown eyes, Yukino wears a signature blue rose ornament on the left side of her head. Her original Sabertooth attire featured a feathered cloak secured with a star-shaped clip over a blouse and shorts. Following her temporary expulsion from the guild, she adopted simpler clothing: a teal tank top and mini-skirt. Multiple characters observe her strong resemblance to Lisanna Strauss.
Yukino's personality blends self-confidence with deep sensitivity. She takes pride in her magical abilities and guild affiliation, demonstrated by wagering her life in a Grand Magic Games battle against Kagura Mikazuchi. Despite this confidence, she remains respectful and polite, often using the honorific "-sama." Her defeat by Kagura led to public humiliation, stripping, and the forced removal of her guild mark by Sabertooth's master, Jiemma, severely impacting her self-esteem and triggering emotional vulnerability, seen when she tearfully confided in Natsu Dragneiel.
Her magic revolves around Celestial Spirit Keys: she wields the Gold Keys for Pisces and Libra, the thirteenth Black Zodiac Key Ophiuchus, and Silver Keys for Polaris and Deneb. Yukino's proficiency allows simultaneous summons of multiple spirits, indicative of high-level skill. She also possesses Gale-Force Reading Glasses to accelerate information processing. While primarily reliant on spirit summons, she possesses hand-to-hand combat skills honed during her Sabertooth tenure.
Her defeat and expulsion during the Grand Magic Games proved pivotal. Believing Lucy Heartfilia should unite all twelve Zodiac keys to "open the gate to the changing world," Yukino offered her Pisces and Libra keys. Lucy declined, emphasizing the bonds between mage and spirits, leading Yukino to acknowledge the keys would unite when destined; this exchange forged mutual respect.
Expelled from Sabertooth, Yukino joined the royal guard under Arcadios as a provisional sergeant, aiding the Eclipse Project to thwart Zeref and Acnologia. She played a critical role alongside Lucy in sealing the Eclipse Gate to prevent a dragon invasion using their combined celestial magic. After Sabertooth's reformation under Sting Eucliffe, multiple guilds sought her membership, but she rejoined Sabertooth at Sting's invitation, moved by collective support.
Later involvements include participating in the Alvarez Empire arc, where she reunited with Sorano, who postponed returning pending atonement for past crimes, and assisting Team Natsu as a guest member during the 100-Year Quest's Gold Owl arc.
Yukino's key relationships include admiration for Lucy's celestial magic philosophy, a sisterly bond with Sorano despite their separation, and an implied romantic connection with Sting Eucliffe noted in supplementary materials and fan discussions. Her character evolution transitions from guild-centric pride to valuing camaraderie, mirroring Sabertooth's broader shift toward unity after their defeat by Fairy Tail.
