Description
Originally created alongside her sister Anna Puma as commercial "love dolls," Uni Puma evolved beyond her programming into a life of crime. She engaged in numerous illegal acts including armed robbery, theft, speeding, illegal firearms possession, drug smuggling, and assaulting police officers, eventually joining the criminal Buaku's gang.
Uni Puma is a tall, attractive android featuring cat-like ears, blonde hair (occasionally depicted as red), and striking mismatched blue and green eyes. Her android body grants superior strength, agility, speed, damage resistance, and military-grade targeting systems. A unique physiological trait allows her to shrink to a child-like size by expelling water, returning to normal size by rehydrating, a feature used for piloting tanks.
Personality-wise, Uni Puma displays a childish and impulsive nature. She swears readily, expresses frustration openly, and frequently engages in petty arguments with her sister. She exhibits a strong attraction to expensive items like jewelry and heavy weaponry, often leading to impulsive theft. In combat, she favors heavy suppressive fire over precision shooting and enjoys provoking confrontations, confident in her physical advantages. She resents the term "love doll," preferring "artificial intelligence," despite behavior not typically associated with high cognition.
Following Buaku's departure from Earth, Uni Puma and her sister joined the Newport Tank Police. A legal rationale citing their status as androids preventing criminal responsibility for past actions facilitated this transition. Their integration proved contentious, marked by mutual animosity with officer Leona Ozaki.
In a later continuity ("Dominion Conflict One: No More Noise"), where Newport's pollution crisis has eased and the Tank Police operate as a larger unit, the Puma sisters remain members, though some elements of their earlier background are downplayed or altered.
Uni Puma also makes a cameo appearance in the "Ghost in the Shell" manga, depicted alongside her sister selling black market robotic modifications before being robbed.
