OVA
Description
Hurricane Polymar’s identity shifts across narratives, anchored by a hero wielding a shape-shifting polymer suit to fight crime. In one version, young Takeshi Onigawara operates from a detective agency, hiding his alter ego. His journey begins when Ryoko Nishida, a classmate killed by the Cat Shark Gang, leaves him the Polymet—a device amplifying physical prowess. Driven to unravel her death and the Polymet’s origins, he battles both criminals and concealed truths.

Another iteration reimagines the hero as Takeshi Yoroi, a martial artist and detective’s aide armed with a memory-plastic suit. This suit morphs into five vehicles—jet, submarine, and others—but falters after 46 minutes or when exposed to freezing temperatures or high-voltage attacks. A live-action take casts him as a street fighter recruited to awaken a dormant Polymar Suit via voice command, clashing with syndicates while entangled with a researcher tied to the suit’s creation.

Family tensions surface in some stories: Takeshi Onigawara, youngest of three brothers, grapples with his eldest sibling’s disappearance and a fractured bond with his father, hinting at deeper emotional stakes beneath his vigilantism. Allies include detective Joe Kuruma, whose humor offsets the grit, and Teru Nanba, an eager assistant navigating the agency’s mysteries.

The Polymet suit’s core abilities—enhanced strength, rapid combat, and vehicular transformations—evolve across media. One arc pits Hurricane Polymar against a rival suit, sparking clashes over identity and technology’s dangers, though this thread remains open-ended. Suit mechanics adapt to each storyline: helmets trigger transformations in some versions, while others rely on vocal codes.

Motivations fluctuate—vengeance for lost allies, pursuit of justice, or exposure of corporate corruption—often intertwined with allies like scientists or detectives. Antagonists range from the Cat Shark Gang to the Meioutou syndicate, with crossovers featuring team-ups that prioritize action over character depth, maintaining Hurricane Polymar’s legacy as a versatile, tech-driven protector.
