Description
Orville, also called Obier, is a dark, brooding, and cynical warrior wielding a two-handed broadsword. He frequently displays disdain for others and engages in intrigue when necessary. His sole tenderness surfaces only with Raifan, the young mage he protects as his ward; this protective bond significantly motivates his actions.

His past involves an assassination attempt on Lord Haven, ruler of Da'nan. Defeated by Haven in combat, Orville is spared for his skill. Immediately after, the Deputy's men kill Lord Haven and frame Orville for the murder, forcing him to flee. This event compels him to follow Lord Haven's son, Redon, and Redon's companions as they escape into Crystania across the Gods' Wall.

Within Crystania, Orville initially moves alone, stalking Redon's group while evading pursuers. He intervenes during a lizardman attack, saving Redon and presenting him with Lord Haven's sword – a gesture marking his shift from antagonist to reluctant ally. His formidable combat prowess proves vital in several battles, including clashes against followers of the god Rumiss and the assault on Barbas's forces at Dayton Castle. Orville's martial skill culminates in a duel against Brasto, captain of the Shadow Cavalry, during the Fang of the Animal's counterattack on Barbas.

His relationship with Raifan remains a consistent thread, their bond depicted through key scenes. Raifan's magical abilities, such as summoning fae spirits to aid escapes, directly support Orville during pivotal moments, reinforcing their mutual dependence.
