OVA
Description
Gill Hakaider began as Professor Gill, leader of the criminal empire DARK, before his brain was transplanted into a mechanized Hakaider body following his original form’s destruction three years after DARK’s initial downfall. This fusion merged his intellect with the Hakaider unit’s technology, amplifying his physical prowess and retaining his obsession with global conquest. Enhanced strength, advanced weaponry—the Hakaider Shot, Destruction Sword, and whip—and transformative abilities allowed him to morph into the Monster Robot Black Dragon, multiplying his power tenfold, or unite with three Hakaiders to form Gattaider, achieving fortyfold strength.

Post-transplantation, his personality grew more arrogant and ruthless compared to prior iterations. Unlike the nihilistic original Hakaider, Gill adopted a brutish demeanor, prioritizing the annihilation of the Kikaider brothers and domination through tactics like hypnosis via glowing eyes, environmental control via Satan Darkness’s obscuring clouds, and strategic robotic manipulation using Gill’s flute—a skill later underutilized.

Resurrected by SHADOW under ambiguous circumstances, he operated with partial autonomy, alternating between obedience and rebellion against leaders like Big Shadow. His missions expanded beyond direct combat to orchestrate societal chaos—hoarding resources, exterminating strays—blending dark comedy with menace. He pursued personal vendettas, reviving projects like the Armageddon Lord, a colossal robot requiring energy from his son Akira.

A power surge from summoning Gill’s spirit tripled his strength, unlocking techniques like the Outlaw Kick and Magma Upper, briefly overpowering foes like Shadow Knight and rivaling the Kikaider brothers. Subsequent defeats led to SHADOW brainwashing him into forced allegiance, though resentment simmered. His final destruction involved repeated resurrections via SHADOW’s Robot Regeneration Device before combined assaults by the Kikaider Brothers and Bijinder ended him.

In animated adaptations, SHADOW’s leadership was reattributed directly to Gill, bypassing Big Shadow. This iteration intensified his pursuit of Akira to activate the Armageddon Lord and clashes with former allies like Bijinder. A submission chip implantation amplified his cruelty, mirroring themes of humanity’s duality through his merciless actions.
