Description
Based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Steadfast Tin Soldier," this character is a one-legged soldier fashioned from a single tin spoon, notable for his unwavering stance despite his physical limitation. His story revolves around silent, unrequited affection for a paper ballerina, whom he believes shares his condition due to her single visible leg.

A vindictive goblin triggers the soldier's odyssey by knocking him from a windowsill into the street. He survives successive dangers: swept through a gutter by churning water, devoured by a fish, and regurgitated back into his original home—only to confront the goblin’s renewed malice. During these ordeals, his gaze never wavers from the ballerina, embodying his steadfast loyalty.

The tale culminates when the goblin hurls the soldier into a blazing furnace. A sudden draft carries the ballerina into the fire after him. They perish together—the soldier melting into a tin heart, the ballerina burning away save for her glittering tinsel rose. Their deaths forge a tragic union, unresolved by pixies attempting to rewrite fairy tale endings within the series’ framework.
