OVA
Description
Amara Minakushi is an artificial human discovered hibernating within an ancient Tibetan temple during an expedition led by Kei Anno's grandfather roughly two decades before the main events. This discovery coincided with the unearthing of prophecies foretelling an impending alien invasion and the Devadasy mecha system.

She possesses distinctive blue hair, dark skin, and a characteristically stoic demeanor reflecting her artificial origins. A psychic link exists between Amara and protagonist Kei Anno, manifesting as recurrent, shared erotic dreams experienced by both before their first meeting. This connection forms a powerful bond crucial for their synchronized piloting of the Devadasy unit.

As the designated Devadasy pilot, Amara operates the mecha nude due to nanomachines interfacing directly with her body. Initially forming a protective layer, these nanomachines progressively fuse with her physiology, stimulating her for optimal energy output to power the mecha. Throughout her missions, this fusion evolves; the nanomachines develop increasingly elaborate mechanical components that integrate deeper, causing escalating physical distress. This transformation culminates in moments where she becomes nearly indistinguishable from the Devadasy itself.

Her history reveals connections to the origins of the alien threat. An ancient alien artifact, depicted as a massive black octahedron, arrived on Earth in prehistoric times and serves as the source of the invasion. Amara's past intersects with this artifact, though explicit links remain ambiguous. During the climax, an alien entity manifests through a corrupted Devadasy unit and communicates telepathically via Amara, declaring its intent to merge humanity's essence with the Devadasy system to propagate new life forms. This entity also implies a potential familial relationship between Amara and co-pilot Naoki Matsudo, suggesting Amara might be Naoki's mother.

The OVA concludes ambiguously, depicting a younger Kei and Amara in a school setting where her laughter transitions from genuine to enigmatic. The canonicity of this scene remains unclear, potentially representing a dream sequence.
