Born in 1989 to Lynn Lina and Lynn Max in China, Lynn Kyle relocated with his family to Yokohama, Japan. There, his aunt and uncle ran the "Golden Dragon" Chinese restaurant, and Kyle formed a close childhood bond with his cousin, Lynn Minmei. Standing 182 cm tall with black hair and blue eyes, he trained extensively in martial arts yet grappled with aligning his ideals against the world's harshness. By 2003, he joined the Anti-Unification League, engaging in protests that escalated into violence. Authorities deemed the group a terrorist movement, though Kyle championed it as the "peace movement." When Kyle's parents moved with Minmei to Macross Island to establish a new restaurant, Kyle, concerned about living on a military base as an activist, departed without informing them. After extensive travels, he settled in Yokohama for studies. A 2009 attempt to visit Minmei revealed Macross Island's destruction. Reuniting with Minmei aboard the SDF-1 during the First Robotech War, Kyle became her assistant and manager, expressing romantic interest and contemplating marriage. Despite his anti-war stance, he exhibited hostility toward Robotech Defense Force personnel, frequently initiating physical confrontations using his martial arts skills instead of peaceful resolutions. His relationship with Minmei deteriorated amid arguments over her career and finances. Kyle developed alcoholism and grew increasingly antagonistic. Post-war, Kyle rallied New Detroit citizens to expel military forces guarding the Protoculture matrix. This action inadvertently enabled Khyron's invasion, resulting in the slaughter of defenders and the matrix's theft. As his relationship with Minmei worsened further, Kyle departed, pledging they would reunite. He was subsequently listed as missing. Kyle later infiltrated the Pioneer Expedition aboard the SDF-3 using false identities and disguises. He attended Rick Hunter and Lisa Hayes's 2022 wedding disguised as a caterer, nearly being recognized. When Minmei arrived unexpectedly on the SDF-3, Kyle monitored her covertly, visiting her infirmary room disguised as a nurse and observing her interactions with Jonathan Wolfe from afar. During the Sentinels mission, he surreptitiously broadcast Minmei's final performance shipwide after she refused to sing publicly. In the REF Civil War, Kyle, wearing a Ghost Squadron uniform, attempted to shield Minmei from T.R. Edwards. He was captured and executed by Edwards during the kidnapping. His body was later discovered by Rick Hunter and personnel.
